To Be Or Not To Be Admin, That Is The Question

To Be Or Not To Be Admin, That Is The Question

This post is all about Facebook Pages and Admin Engagement.

This post will tell you how to talk on your Facebook Page as your page.

This post will tell you how to talk on your Facebook page as you.

And you will learn why it is important you can do both.

First things first.

Being an Admin to a Facebook Page is a great responsibility.  Whether you are an Admin to a page for yourself, your company, your business, your boss or a brand:  Reputation is at stake!  Keep that in mind as we talk about being an Admin and about engagement.

What was I talking about when I mentioned ‘you can comment and post as a page’ and ‘you can comment and post as you’?

Watch this video and you’ll understand:

RECAP:

Go to
 Next click on
Click on ‘Your Settings’ on the top left sidebar

and leave the top box unchecked!

You can now talk as your Page,

as well as yourself.

WHY?

Why, you ask, why should it matter?  For several reasons…

As I explained briefly in the video, when you have multiple Admins, you can create engagement by talking with and to each other on the page.  This will only work if only one of you talks as the page…the rest of the Admins will need to speak as themselves, or the conversation will not look natural!  Furthermore, if you are a solopreneur yet you are trying to create the illusion that you are more than one person…   You could pose a question as the page, and start engagement as yourself.  Lastly, you create a sense of community and caring when you talk as you as well as your page to your fans.  I personally will comment on posts on my own page(s) when the conversation is personal and humorous.  I want to show off who I am to my fans by ‘showing up to the party’, too!

One More Thing…

Recent changes in Facebook Admin roles left many Facebook users confused.  If you landed here thinking I would discuss those changes, click here and you’ll be taken to my blog post (with Video Tutorial) on just that subject!  If you leave, don’t forget to come back and finish this post…;)

YOUR TURN

Do you agree with my three arguments for speaking both as a Facebook Page and as a person on your page?

Did you go check to see if your box was unchecked or not?

How did you decide to set your settings?

Please join the conversation and leave a comment.  I have CommentLuv enabled for those with a blog and the Facebook Comments plug-in is ready to roll!  I am looking forward to engaging with you.

Dorien.
